0.20
So how many people out there are using 0.20, and how are finding it?
I'm considering upgrading this weekend...

Quite a bit of pain, but some pleasure too.

Got some strange audio issues I don't see with 0.19 where the audio
mutes until I reboot.

Couple of XvMC issues have reappeared that were fixed in 0.19-fixes

Just feels a lot slower to respond as well which I can't quite understand.

Not a lot of new eye candy except the OpenGL mode which needs speeding up.

MythArchive and the Internal DVD player are nice, but some of my disks
crash the Internal DVD Player but work with Xine.

Also make sure you get the most current fixes otherwise MythWeb is unusable.

Looks like i'll be waiting on some more upstream fixes before I let this
anywhere near a customer.

I'm running 0.20, however I upgraded from 0.17 so my perception of
change may be greater than exists.

OpenGL rendering is cute but largely "now we can start doing useful
things with it", so the fades on the main menu are it.

DVB stuff, once I populated a proper configuration of switches and LNBs
worked okay. Actually, better than okay, I now have test cards from
Optus C1 at 156E as well as all the stuff from B1 at 160E.

Internal player seems to work for most content (including AC3 content
with passthru to my amp correctly), but DTS content crashes it badly.
And I've tried a couple of DVD ISOs, only one played properly with menus
etc, the rest all just bailed. Which is a shame, I really want to pull a
selection of DVDs to a hard drive without transcoding them.

Internal EIT scanner is nice, but I don't know when that got finally
fixed and working. It *appears* to have catagories too, since I can see
pretty colours on some items..

Seems an okay release to me.

I am, but it's my first install so I don't have anything to compare it to.

I was having a number of hard lockups with nothing in the logs which looked to
be caused by mythfrontend (tested on two separate boxes). After talking to
some guys on IRC I believe it may be related to either XvMC or OpenGL vsync
with an Nvidia card.

I have now recompiled without XvMC or OpenGL vsync and will run for a bit to
see if this solves the issues. If it does solve the issues then I will enable
options one-by-one and see where the problem really lies.

Seems to lock the ALSA output so for example if you watch something with VLC
while mythfrontend is running there is no sound.

Slow to respond when you hit esc in the main menu and you did that by
mistake and want to go back to the main menu.

However overall much improved, no technical problems.

Yeah i've got other alsa problems as well. Keep having the system mute
and not recover.

Yes the menus seem a lot slower even without the OpenGL extenstions.

Same here it seems to turn off the "IEC958 Output" switch under Kmix > Show
Mixer Window > Switches tab. Ie when I log in as the mythtv user remotely
using VNC, the VNC session "grabs" the sound output. I just have to turn
that switch back on when its running in the local (tv output) session
sometimes, and the sound comes back. Now I keep the kmix window open on the
local session and the sound output seems to stay.
