Future of free DVB
There's an article on Stuff today:

Sounds like TVNZ and Canwest are quite close to entering a deal to
broadcast at least their existing free to air channels (1,2,3,C4).
They seem to be leaning towards DVB-S which would be good news for
those of use with DVB-S cards, at least if they continue to use the
same satellite as Sky.

Yay.. One problem with the satellite and the whole of NZ returns to the
days befor B&W TV.

They really need to compliment this with DVB-T in the main cities.

No one is suggesting discontinuing the current terrestrial service, so
we'd just be back to what we've got now.
