mythgame + xmame.x11 + xv
Apparently the above don't play nice. In particular, I am trying to get
xmame.x11 running with xv scaler support (scales games perfectly to fit the
screen), and it fails to start up under mythgame.

To be a bit more precise. I set my ~/.xmame/xmamerc to include the
following line: "xv 1" and just start mythgame from the command line (i.e.
mythfrontend is not running).

Is this conflict resolvable at all? I can run xmame.x11 at the command line
with no problems whatsoever, but apparently mythgame doesn't want to
play...In fact, the machine is only stoppable with a ctrl-alt-bksp, but then
again, I haven't been able to get an alt-f4 equivalent working in fvwm quite
yet...

Any help/comments would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Chris

There really shouldn't be a conflict -- you may want to stick a line into the
mythgame source to see what the actual command line it's using is, though.

Not sure if this is related or not....

I noticed that I can't use a script to replace xmame.
I needed one to make it work right with kde so I made xmame be xmame.orig
and a script xmame that called it. Wouldn't work for some reason.
So I ended up hacking mythgame to do the "right stuff" for me instead.
Are you actually calling xmame the executable with your current config?

Hope this helps,
Mike

And BTW, for me to get DGA fullscreen the xmame option is "-x11 1".

RE: mythgame + xmame.x11 + xv [ In reply to ]
I think I solved the problem. Apparently the -x11 1 option didn't play nice
with the xv option. Or so that's what tinkering at the command line showed
me...

So in mythgame I had to disable the 'fullscreen' option checkbox and leave
the xmamerc the way I had it (with xv on, cursor off, etc) and everything
seems to work fine.

Thanks,
Chris
