How to track deadlock ?
Hi,

my N900 deadlocks roughly twice a weeks when under high usage, once per
month otherwise. It happens while the screen is off, I suspect that that
mail client is the culprit because I've seen the phone deadlock with
only the mail app running.
What happens is that I put it in my pocket, and when I want to use it
nothing happens. Even long presses on the power button do nothing. I
have to take off the battery, re-power it on and, of course, set the
time and date anew each time because automatic date setting doesn't work
(that's the part I hate the most).

Now I'd like to know what's the problem, and how to track this. Does
anyone have a solution ? Is there a special key combo, or something
though the USB port to be able to debug it when deadlocked ?

Thanks,
Xav

If it is in your pocket, how do you know it is caused by high usage?

Maybe it is this bug:
https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9150

Next time it happens, if you can SSH into the N900 before pulling the
battery, maybe you can see what's going on.

I mean, I'm using it quite often during the day. Of course, once in my
pocket it should be idle.

Thanks, I'll have a look at the bug report and try ssh next time.
