Re: Re: 2.4 an LVS: BE WARNED
Hi all,
excuse me, but maybe i do not expaklin well myself.
In this moment i'm not afraid of stableness, i'm afraid beacuse i cannot
make it working anyway!!!
IT is correct that colud be soem time to wait until everything will be more
stabel than today( i have machien up adn running from ony 3 days) but i
cannot in any way made the lvs working with iptables.
This is the matter!!!

P.S.: i continue to send both the mailing list because the problem is not
clear, at elast to me, if it is an lvs configuration (i do not think so) or
netfilter...

thanks

there's a couple of problems here.

1. your reply address is "Mailing Manager" rather than to a user,
so it looks like your machine is not set up properly, but you don't
realise this. My first suspicion then is that you haven't setup the LVS
correctly
and you aren't looking in the correct location for the explanation.

2. all you've told us is that the LVS doesn't work. We need more
information.

what are the symptoms that tells you that it's not working?

Have you looked at the HOWTO, archives for information?

Do you want a VS-NAT setup? In this case use a 2.2.x kernel
on the director. Using a 2.4.x kernel on the director with VS-NAT,
is in development and not ready yet.

Hi, thanks for your answer.
I reply to the mailing list because i suppose, correct me if 'mw rong, this
is an interesting topics for all.
My email is correct, i have the name mailing manager, but the address is
correct: mailing@lastmintuetour.com.

Here are the other questions:
A) i've a properly runnign kernel 2.2.17 with lvs.
B) i would like to run it on the 2.4 kernel, and for this reason i've
downaloaded the ipvs-0.2.1 tarball.
C) it seems to work in the input direction, a client reach the real serv
trough the director, the real server seems to not reply to the client.
THe bad thing is that the masquerading is working properly, infact a nomral
ping a telent and so on starting from the real server to the client works!!

Thanks for any help..
