初めまして、古積と申します。


[質問]
Corosync, Pacemaker, CMAN の役割の違いが理解できそうな
日本語の記事があれば教えて頂けないでしょうか。


[質問の背景]
CentOS6 で Corosync + Pacemaker を使用していました。
検証環境構築の為、CentOS6.6 で下記パッケージをインストールしたのですが。

corosync-1.4.7-2.el6.x86_64
pacemaker-1.1.12-8.el6.x86_64

pcmk の設定で下記の通り設定し、起動を試みたところ、
corosync.log に Pacemaker plugin for Corosync が使用できない旨の
英文が表示され、pacemaker が起動しない状態となりました。
なお、英文でドキュメントを確認すると、pcmk で 1 を設定するよう
下記補足事項と共に記載がある事を確認し、pcmk で 1 を設定したところ
正常起動できる事は確認したところではあります。

Clusters from Scratch の記事や、下記 quickstart を読むと
cman と pacemaker を組み合わせて使用する例を多々見受けられますが、
corosync, pacemaker, cman の役割の違いがイマイチ整理出来ずに居る状況です。

今後はどのような組み合わせで構築をすれば良いか考える判断材料として、
corosync, pacemaker, cman の役割の違いについて認識を整理したい為、
参考となるサイトや書籍でも良いので、教えて頂けますと幸いです。

When run in version 1 mode, the plugin does not start the Pacemaker
daemons. Instead it just sets up the quorum and messaging interfaces needed
by the rest of the stack. Starting the dameons occurs when the Pacemaker
init script is invoked. This resolves two long standing issues:

1. Forking inside a multi-threaded process like Corosync causes all
sorts of pain. This has been problematic for Pacemaker as it needs a number
of daemons to be spawned.
2. Corosync was never designed for staggered shutdown - something
previously needed in order to prevent the cluster from leaving before
Pacemaker could stop all active resources.
