I installed the drivers for this tuner from ivtv download page.

I do not have a remote control connected (maybe this is the reason for the I2C errors, I really don't know)

Is this problem known and is there a fix or workaround?

The ivtv driver does not know about you card specifically. The
ivtv-driver assumes a PVR-150 card, which is wrong for your hardware.

Use the cardtype= module parameter to ivtv to find a similar card type.
See my previous email.

Re: wm8775 I2C write errors [ In reply to ]
This is what I get in windows XP MCE for the TV Tuner:

Conexant (Internext Compression) iTVC16/CX23416 MPEG Codec

Detail (it's in Dutch):

Apparaatbeschrijving Conexant (Internext Compression)
iTVC16/CX23416 MPEG Codec
Bus Type PCI
Bus / Apparaat / Functie 2 / 9 / 0
Apparaat ID 4444-0016
ID subsysteem 1179-0001
Apparaatklasse 0400 (Video Device)
Revisie 01
Fast Back-to-Back Transactions Niet ondersteund (=not supported)

Apparaat functies
66 MHz werking Niet ondersteund
Bus Mastering Geactiveerd (=Activated)

So I believe that the CX23416 firmware should be correct.

Any suggestions for Ubuntu?

My suggestions are in this email (which hopefully the list mailer sent
to you):

http://ivtvdriver.org/pipermail/ivtv-devel/2011-January/006691.html

I don't know Dutch, so hopefully you can understand enough of my English
for it to help.

Andy
