nvidia: Unknown symbol _VMALLOC_RESERVE

dmesg gives the error message in the title of this email when I attempt to
modprobe -a nvidia.

I am running 2.6.9-gentoo-r1 kernel and nvidia-kernel 1.0.5336-r4. I am
running 8k stacks. I did not have this problem with 2.6.8. If I emerge the
~x86 version of nvidia-kernel (6 something or another), I get a black screen
when I startup xorg.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

i couldn't get the 5336 to work with 2.6.9
emerge the ~x86 version.
modprobe nvidia
lsmod (make sure the module is loaded)
emerge the x~86 version of nvidia-glx
opengl-update nvidia
startx
