emerge strange behaviour
Dear all,

I have a strange problem.
I do emerge -u world, and I see:

-- Calculating world dependencies ...done!
>>> emerge (1 of 53) sys-libs/glibc-2.3.4.20040808-r1 to /
>>> Downloading http://gentoo.inode.at/distfiles/glibc-infopages-2.3.4.tar.bz2

All Done: Download Succesfull!
>>> Downloading http://gentoo.inode.at/distfiles/glibc-manpages-2.3.4.tar.bz2

All Done: Download Succesfull!
>>> Downloading http://gentoo.inode.at/distfiles/glibc-2.3.3.tar.bz2

All Done: Download Succesfull!
>>> Downloading http://gentoo.inode.at/distfiles/glibc-2.3.4-branch-update-20040808.patch.bz2

All Done: Download Succesfull!
>>> md5 src_uri ;-) glibc-2.3.3.tar.bz2
>>> md5 src_uri ;-) glibc-manpages-2.3.4.tar.bz2
>>> md5 src_uri ;-) glibc-infopages-2.3.4.tar.bz2
>>> md5 src_uri ;-) glibc-2.3.4-branch-update-20040808.patch.bz2

and nothing else. If I try to upgrade some other packages I have the same thing,
nothing happen.

Some ideas?
Thanks

I will preface my reply with the caveat "I am not a linux guru and
suggestions should always be taken with a grain of salt."

I am not sure where you would start looking, but it looks as if
--fetch-only or -f have been added to your emerge command. I don't know
if this can be done in a configuration file or if it would be done by
creating an alias.

That is where I would start.

Good Luck,
Egil
