Hello there.

Can you give me a hint on why ebuild doesn't perform any task, it
silently finishes without actually perform the command:

cervinia root # ebuild
/usr/portage/x11-wm/metacity/metacity-2.8.1.ebuild unpack
cervinia root # echo $?
0
cervinia root # ll /var/tmp/portage/
total 0
drwxr-xr-x 3 portage portage 72 Oct 11 02:36 autoconf-2.59-r4
drwxr-xr-x 3 portage portage 72 Oct 11 02:36 autoconf-2.59-r5
