Thin Client
I'm looking to implement Thin Clients for part of my network.
For the time being, I'm looking at software solutions like pxes.

Does anyone know any good client that supports a good video resolution
like 1024x768 (pxes can do that with modifications *AND* that support
sound relay in KDE to the client (should support arts in some way, or
map remote devices to local ones).

Thanks in advance.

Guy

NX, from nomachine.com, should do what you want. It's server is commercial,
but there is a free implementation I've not looked into yet, FreeNX.
It's all in portage.

I use pxes at work, we have about 40 thin clients connecting to one ms
2003 enterprise server. Of course it can do more than just terminal
services.

Works out very well for us.

However, I've been having some major problems with the pxes ebuild,
though it seems others are not. I'd be interested if you have problems
as well. These problems still persist for me in 0.9.

Look into ltsp (available in portage), and search ebay or your local used
computer store for a bunch of old computers. We use that where I work,
currently on Fedora, with old Dell Optiplexes with the hard drives
removed.
