Horde / Imp and GnuPG
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi there,

I administer a remote server on which, among other things, we host IMAP
email accounts. We use horde/imp as a webmail client, and I would like
to add GnuPG capabilities. From a few googles, I get the feeling it can
be done, but the links aren't that great, and I can't get any good pointers.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the ebuilds. I'll give them a go tonight and report back .I'm in work
at the moment, and don't work in IT, so ssh is firewalled out :-(. What other
new features does the ALPHA ver of 4.0 offer?

Hi Mark,

as far as I know the current stable version of IMP (3.2.6) does not yet
support PGP. The next version (4.0) does, but it has only been released
as an ALPHA version. Nevertheless I am running it on my Gentoo-Server
for a while now and had no problems so far.

If you want to try it you can use my ebuilds. The necessary eclass can
be found here

http://www.gunnarwrobel.de/tiki-download_file.php?fileId=14

and the ebuilds are here

Regards

Hi Mark,

most of them are listed in their roadmap
(http://www.horde.org/imp/roadmap/). There are many :)

Cheers

Re: Horde / Imp and GnuPG [ In reply to ]
Hello All,

I'm just starting with Linux, and i choose Gentoo (2.4.something-gentoo r6)
to start with.
I installed my Gentoo using Anaconda as installer.
Well, now the questions:
1 - Is Gentoo a good one to start with?

2 - I just can't get my modem (PCTel HSP Micromodem 56 R2) to work. I used
the drivers from linmodem.org, but the shell script doesn't work good.
There's a instruction to use ./setup, but this commando doesn't work, first
it says there's no permission to run. Then i used chmod 700 (also tried 777)
setup, but then it says that there's no such file or directory. I just get
it working by typing sh setup, but looks like the script is wrong (there are
errors in a function declaration in the shell).

Does anybody knows how to get it working?

Thanks in advance
Poleto

I'm having a few problems using the custom ebuilds. It seems portage now
puts horde in www-apps instead of net-www. so I have placed the ebuilds
in /usr/local/portage/www-apps/ and changed references to net-www to
www-apps in the custom ebuild. Now, when I run

> # emerge -p horde

I get

Looks good I thought. Upon emerging, I get (sorry for long paste :$)

I really don't know what I've done wrong. Anyway, my users don't have
webmail. Any help appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hi. Welcome!

You'll find there are certain techniques that are useful for getting
quality responses from mailing lists. I'm not criticizing your message,
but I encourage you to read:

http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html

It will help you understand Open Source communities, and get more out of
your experience with Linux.

Good luck!
