Need dialup help, please..
Though the emergence of kde went pretty smoothly & kde loaded in all its
spendor, I was a bit disappointed that the kppp would not address my modem.
When I had a catastrophic kde installation, last time, the /dev/usb/tts/o was
there for the modem & at least that worked! Now, there is no device of that
kind & everything I have tried has met w/'unable to open modem'.

I am using a Prolific adapter PL2303 and the kernel logs show...
Sep 19 13:40:11 [su(pam_unix)] session opened for user root by
yogich(uid=1000)
Sep 19 13:40:52 [kernel] usb 3-2: USB disconnect, address 2
Sep 19 13:41:36 [kernel] usb 3-2: new full speed USB device using address 3
Sep 19 13:45:50 [su(pam_unix)] session closed for user root
...when I unplugged/plugged the device into the USB port --the only one in use
by any device.

Is there a guru out there who can help me, please?

Thanks! (BTW: I checked, & ppp is emerged, as well as pppoe (if needed)but is
there something else?).
