2.6.10 kernels
PPC bug in the ALSA section of 2.6.10 kernels?

Kernel 2.6.10 won't compile on a PowerMac G4 (AGP graphics) with a SBLive
sound card. The compile of the emu10k1 module (the one in the ALSA
section) fails with an error. This should be reproducible on every
machine, if one compiles a kernel whose config includes that module.

2.6.9 compiles OK and works fine.

Please send a bug report on bugs.gentoo.org including the error lines
and the emerge info.

Thanks

No, general one.

I use a emu10k1 sound card too, and had that problem with 2.6.10. It's a
bug with a too large structure and is fixed in vanilla-2.6.11-rc*. I
just copied the driver and the relevant includes from 2.6.11-rc2 to the
2.6.10 and it works like a charm.

Greets,
Michael
