package.mask files in 10.4 and 10.3 profiles
An excerpt from profiles/default-darwin/macos/10.4/package.mask:

% tail -n7 package.mask
sys-libs/readline
x11-libs/gtk+
##
# end collision-protect
##

app-arch/cpio

This is the same for the 10.3 profile. Does anyone know what is special
about the app-arch/cpio that is isn't collision-protect? Can't find any
info in the Changelog too. This might be an obvious issue, but to me
it's a bit unclear, so I'd like to have a small comment above it
explaining why it is there.

As far as I remember, OSX provides cpio, but the binary lives in a
different location than the Gentoo-installed version. We masked it to
avoid cpio being pulled in through "emerge system" and "emerge -up
world" since most 10.{3,4} users won't want two copies of the same
binary.

I was asking because I think it should be documented in the file...

At least I like documentation ;)
