Does anyone else find this misleading to the reader?
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/handbook-x86.xml?part=1&chap=6

You are told in chapter 6 that if a new Portage version is available, to
ignore it. This is incorrect and misleading to readers, and should be
changed appropriately

"If you are warned that a new Portage version is available and that you should
update Portage, you should ignore it. Portage will be updated for you later on
during the installation."

I believe this has been overlooked and is incorrect. Portage /will
not/ be updated automatically later on during the rest of the Gentoo
installation. I'm not saying that portage wont be updated /after/ the
installation with emerge -uD world,
i'm stating that this part/wording in the handbook is not correct.
Some person then marked it as closed because he/she thought their
opinion was correct. (their not correct).
I have brought this up on IRC many times, and I always here people
talk about it as being a confusing/misleading statement that should be
re-stated.

Thanks for looking into it.

As far as I know, this is a remnant of the original installation
method, including a "emerge system" step.
In this step, taking place after updating the portage tree, portage
is automaticly updated.
