Unless I've forgotten something, I've finished the draft on "Portage" for
the Gentoo Handbook. As you can see, there are quite a few changes. First, I
added an introduction chapter to Portage in the second part of the Gentoo
handbook ("Working with Gentoo"). The third part is Portage-specific and
meant for users who want to fiddle with ~arch and such.
I'd like you to comment on this one; in my humble opinion it's better
than the current second part of the Gentoo handbook - the portage
introduction is more clear and less verbose.
I'd like to merge these changes in the Gentoo Handbook from the moment
Portage .51 goes live in stable (as it contains .51-specific features).
