Out of the office replies.
I vote in favor of auto unsubscribing, kickbanning, mass mailbombing and DoS-ing anybody SPAMming me with this kind of crap. (Just post to bugtraq once and you'll know why.)

Why thank you for telling the list, David.

List: what is the policy on OOO (Out Of Office) replies? Should they be
filtered or should one simply be forcefully unsubscribed?

08/12/2002.

I will respond to your message when I return.

Yeah, that's really a mature way to handle this issue. *cough*

While we're moaning anyway, maybe you can post in plain-text so everybody
can read your mail without having to dig through html.

Wouldn't it be possible to block messages which contain the string "out of
the office" in the subject to be blocked automatically? and maybe also block
html-based messages as well (just look at the 2nd mime part...?)

Kind Regards,
Bart

Maybe we should do the same for people who re-spam the list with spam
instead of cleaning up the reply. It would be better to just ignore spam
and let the list manager handle it. I mean it is one spam email, your
eyes aren't going to fall out.

This seems to be the best way. Easy implementation, user friendly...
I also like to have it filter html. My client does it, but it does not belong
in e-mail anyway with all the security problems it provides.

How about blocking messages with html also? The savings in bandwidth alone
would make the effort worthwhile.
