Setting config without eximon
This is a multi-part message in MIME format.

Can anyone suggest a book or faq that will help me with setting startup parameters without the benefit of using eximon. I lease a dedicated server with Exim installed, but the vendor provides CPanel, which apparently blocks the use of eximon.

I want to try some tweeks for high mail volume, such as "split-spool" and changes to length of time underliverables stay in the queue.

Any suggestions? Thanks, Mike Ingram

Uhm.. Yes.. ssh in and edit the exim config file directly.

Eximon doesnt configure exim anyway - its just a monitoring interface..

The only way to change Exim's configuration is to edit the file. The
eximon utility is a monitoring utility, not a configuring utility.

What access do you have to the box? Telnet? SSH? FTP? If you don't have
any of those, you have a problem...

To find the name of the configuration file, run

/usr/sbin/sendmail -bP configure_file

(or /usr/lib/sendmail if the OS is one that uses that path).
