Summary: eximstats write to stderr if there have been no
deliveries
Product: Exim
Version: 4.69
Platform: Other
URL: http://www.bugs.debian.org/476541
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: bug
Priority: low
Component: Eximstats
AssignedTo: nigel@exim.org
ReportedBy: eximusers@downhill.at.eu.org
CC: exim-dev@exim.org

This is Debian bug 476541, found by Justin Pryzby.

On a machine wih little mail, mainlog might look like this:
/var/log/exim4/mainlog
2008-04-17 07:42:11 Start queue run: pid=12298
2008-04-17 07:42:11 End queue run: pid=12298

without any deliveries. This input causes eximstats to write an error message
to stderr:
ametzler@argenau:/tmp$ /usr/sbin/eximstats < /var/log/exim4/mainlog >
/dev/null
**** No valid log lines read

Which is not very nice if eximstats is run from cron. It should no throw an
error message for valid logfiles even if there are no deliveries in there.

thanks, cu andreas
