DRBD causes kernel crash under load
Last time I tried to use drbd using Kernel 2.2.18 on an Intel box, drbd seemed
to crash the kernel when moving large (20 Meg+) files around. That was drbd5.7.
Is 5.8 any better at this?
Is there a patch/fix/workaround?

I loved the way it worked with heartbeat, but just couldn't afford to lose
my primary server two or three times a day.

CVS (5.8) is way better.

The bug was in the kernel. For 2.2.18, you need patches. These patches
have been incorporated into the 2.2.19 kernel.

Hmmm, you definitely want the CVS version...

I think it is time (after incorporating the signaling patches of course ;)
) to fork a "stable" branch, called 0.58. The superfastquicksync is there,
only the signalling needs to be in it. What else should be in there?

Yes, I agree.
1) We need to fix signaling (Probabely by using Ard van Bremen's Patch)
2) Fix documentaiton (I am working on this [Besides making overtime at CUBiT])
3) I would like to introduce some kind of quoting in the /etc/drbd.conf file
(currently everything behind the = is considered as value, which I do
not like very much)
4) Make the 0.5.8 Release (or call it 0.6)

5) Start new development thigs like porting to Linux-2.4.x
and use user mode Linux to understand the more cunning bugs :)
6) tons of new and cools features

Unfortunately my time resources will be very limited in the next
two weeks...
