davical and Lighting 1.0/b2
I've just setup my first davical server (yet another of those things
that I wish I had done a long time ago).
All works great for me on Thunderbird 3.0.6/Lightning 1.0/b1, but my
friend on a Mac has Thunderbird 3.1/Lightning 1.0/b2 and he can't add
any new events.

The logs on the server show a 405 error on the PUT

191.12.21.274 - steve [11/Aug/2010:14:38:19 +0100] "PUT
/caldav.php/steve/home HTTP/1.1" 405 20 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U;
Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2.8) Gecko/20100802 Lightning/1.0b2
Thunderbird/3.1.2"

This looks different to a PUT from my machine -

191.8.1.266 - steve [11/Aug/2010:15:08:12 +0100] "PUT
/caldav.php/steve/home/bcfc04d6-7aab-47fc-bd80-387c7769780c.ics
HTTP/1.1" 201 20 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US;
rv:1.9.1.11) Gecko/20100713 Lightning/1.0b1 Thunderbird/3.0.6"

which works.

Is 1.0/b2 missing the ics ID and is this the problem ?

Have just tested 1.0/b2 on my Linux Thunderbird and it updates DAViCal
fine. Not sure if there is an issue specific to Mac now perhaps ?

Have you tried 'tinkering' with the settings of your account on mac? I'm
thinking of f.e. a missing trailing slash in the location of your
calendar?

HTH - in the absence of A.M., there are only some mortals around to help
out...
