ccm 3.3.3 upgrade utility to ccm 3.3.4
hi there,

I've worked to deploy ccm update from 3.3.3 to 3.3.4 and I have received a
strange message from DC directory healt check, error 1008, unable to
create IDispatcher. I've found anything on cisco docs or tac case. So I
have updated my ccm cluster and all works fine. Anyone ;-) have an idea
about this message?

thanks in advance.

RE: ccm 3.3.3 upgrade utility to ccm 3.3.4 [ In reply to ]
I see one documentation issue raised against upgrade assistant on this
error:

CSCed88931 UpgAsst fails with DCD error 1008 if prev ver of UpgAsst exists

In the process of upgrading from 3.3 to 4.0, when you run the Upgrade
Assistant
CCMUpqdAsst.4-0-1.exe it fails with the following errors ....

DCDHealthC: ERR:Could not Create the IDisPatch Object. Error code is 1008

Validating return code for task DC Directory Health Check. Return Code =
1008.

ERR:Error executing Task DC Directory Health Check. Reverting back to
working
directory "DC Directory Health Check"

However in reality this is not true. This error occurs if you have a
previous
version of Upgrade Assistant on your Server or if CCMUpqdAsst.4-0-1.exe did
not
execute properly. This can be verified by doing the following ...

1. " Uninstall " CCMUpqdAsst.4-0-1.exe.
2. Reboot the Server.
3. Uninstall any previous versions of CCMUpqdAsst you have on the server [
if you
do have it ].
4. Reboot the Server.
5. Execute CCMUpqdAsst.4-0-1.exe and now the CCMUpqdAsst runs fine without
giving
the errors it gave previously.

This defect is just opened for documentation purposes. I am not sure why
having
a previous version of UA causes CCMUpqdAsst.4-0-1.exe to fail with an
incorrect
error code. This can be verified [ that the results are incorrect ] after
performing
the workaround listed above.
