ASR9901 licensing configuration
I have a new ASR9901 and this is my first foray into Cisco's smart
licensing. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I've found
numerous cisco docs for configuring it, but the commands don't seem to be
present on my router.

For example, the ASR9k documentation (I cannot seem to find 9901 specific
info) shows the following to add a token

license smart register idtoken

However, I don't seem to have that

license smart ?
flexible-consumption flexible-consumption(Vortex) model
proxy Proxy related commands
reservation Enable or disable the license reservation feature
software-upgrade Enable or disable the software-upgrade feature
transport Select the type of message transport for Smart
Licensing
url Set the Smart Transport Primary URL

I could put in a TAC ticket, but that seems to take forever. Hoping
someone has done it on a 9901 a time or two and can point me in the correct
direction.

Good luck is the right response.

They insist that our ASR9902 is an ASR9903 at TAC every time I open a ticket.

It's getting old.

Re: ASR9901 licensing configuration [ In reply to ]
So, amazingly I opened a TAC case this morning, and had an engineer looking
at it by a little after noon. I expected to have a couple of days of
information gathering, etc. before someone wanted to do a webex and look at
it. Eventually we found that

A - the correct parameters for call-home were not in fact the ones that I
had in there (according to the docs)
B - Even though it really wants to use the management interface, it can't
because you cannot seem to get a default route on the management interface
so that it can call home.

Ultimately, fixing the call-home URLs, and adding an interface / default
route (router isn't in production yet, need to get all the little things
resolved first) was the key.

I'm not sure if it was because it's slow at Cisco right before Christmas or
what, but I have to say this was one of the fastest tickets I've ever seen.
