as5350 question
We are having a strange problem, hopefully someone can offer some insite.

AS5350
IOS 122-2.XB11

PRI's setup for Dialup Internet Access

Some users will authenticate (AAA/Radius) as normal, but once they log in
the first request will fail. Meaning, if they are connecting from a
windows computer using internet explorer, once the dialup connection is
established, the home page will not display. The system will pause for a
few seconds then IE will display an error about unable to find server.
If the user starts out by opening outlook express and connects, it will
also fail with a unable to find server message. It doesn't effect every
user and it does not happen at every connection. I tried changing one
users home page to an IP rather than a name and it stilled failed to find
the site. If the user clicks 'home' or 'send/recieve' everything will
work fine. I am not sure when the problem started, but it has been
happening for several months. Any ideas?

I bet it was a windows patch that broke it :p
But seriously, did you try doing an "ipconfig /all" between a working and
and a non-working machine.
Additionally, I guess u can also compare the dial-up configs between the two
machines as well.

I have seen this too. I am not sure under what conditions specifically but
I have been told by users that they have to "give it a few seconds after
it connects before they can use the Internet". I would like to know why
too. Running an AS5350 with 12.2 XB11 spe version is 7.18.3.

We experienced something similar a few months ago but have upgraded to
12.3(1a) that runs SPE version 0.8.3.0 and not seeing any known issues. We
did need to add the modemcap entry next:MSC=&FS0=0S29=6S21=3 and we have to
force GTW v.92 and Conexant v.92 modems to +ms=v90. After 4 months of use we
know of no other troubles with this setup.

We are currently using modemcap cisco:MSC=&FS62=8S63=3S29=12S21=15. I
believe that 'S21' sets the compression, but I'll have to check. This
setup has been working real well, except for dropping the first few
packets.

I understand that SPE version 0.8.9.0 will be released 'soon' which will
help with the v.92 connection issues. This has been a real problem for us,
but Cisco is trying to help.

Thank you to everyone else who has offered input on this. I'd still like
to hear of anyone elses experiences.
