Vista PPPoE Client Error 815 with Cisco as PPPoE Server
Hi Everyone,

I've got a situation where a number of Windows Vista machines are having
problems with the PPPoE client, and are keep getting error 815 (remote
computer not responding or something). Tested with Windows XP, and are all
working fine, so I'm fairly sure that the PPPoE configuration on the Cisco
7206 are correct. (Note that when a Vista machine is connected to a home
router, and that home router doing PPPoE, it's fine as well).

Googled a number of forums and support pages but none seems to help. I
believe this is a Vista issue, but is there anyway it can be fixed from the
Cisco end?

Suggestions with the client end?

Thanks to all in advance.

Much appreciated!

cheers,
Patrick

Have you performed a packet capture between the Vista PC and the router and
compared a working and not working one? There may be a clue there.

You may also want to turn on some debugging on the 7206 to see if that
reveals anything.
