Content negociation is an interesting HTTP 1.1 feature
<http://www.cis.ohio-state.edu/cgi-bin/rfc/rfc2068.html#sec-12>. With it, we
can supress the suffix of the filename and the server will select a file
based on language, file type, etc.

Apache has a good (large) document about this.
