[Bricolage-General] Welcome eWeek Readers!
Fellow Bricoleurs,

Thanks to the recent review in eWeek*, the number of new subscriptions
to this list has grown more quickly than before. A few statistics for
you:

* Bricolage-General now has 64 subscribers.
* Bricolage-Devel now has 41 subscribers.
* Bricolage version 1.4.4 has had 506 downloads since its
27 October release. This is the highest number of
downloads since version 1.2.3 (1407 downloads), which was
the stable release for nearly 6 months.

You can see a nice graph of the increased activity on the web pages and
for downloads here:

The upshot is that Bricolage is now generating more attention than it
ever has, and more people are interested in learning about it. Every
day I get email from people who aren't subscribed to any of the lists
but have questions or even patches!

In light of the increased interest, I'd like to jump-start the
discussion on Bricolage-General, which has historically been a
low-volume list. Since a fair number of people subscribed to the list
are using Bricolage every day, I'd like to invite each of us to
introduce ourselves, and discuss how we've used Bricolage in our work.
Those who are subscribed to learn more will thus do so. I would also
like to invite our new subscribers to introduce themselves, ask any
questions they have about Bricolage, and to talk about how they are
considering using Bricolage in their work.

I'll go first in my next post. I look forward to hearing about people's
experiences with Bricolage, to answering questions about it, and to
learning new ways of thinking about and using Bricolage.

Regards,

David

PS: Look for Bricolage 1.4.5 to be released later today or tomorrow,
with many new bug fixes!
