In looking at the bric2 UI, it's kinda weird that the only place where you see the word "edit" on a story's profile is the "bulk edit" link. This bug is a feature request to implement a preference to controlling whether or not "bulk edit" links are available to users (and shown in the UI). That way admins can control access to bulk edit operations, or allow advanced users to override it in their own preferences.
We just ran a test training session with some experienced users, and there was a collective "WTF" moment when they were presented with example stories with container elements. They were all like "where's the edit button?' The bric1 UI had edit buttons all over the place, and now they've been replaced with a triangle that expands the element, which is in a different part of the UI, and doesn't really scream "click me to edit the stuff inside".
The triangles make sense to most users once you explain them, but they don't make editing very "findable", which is important for key affordances. We're also working on a patch to add an actual "Edit element" link or something similar (I'll link to that once a feature request is submitted). Those two options together should be a big UX improvement, I think.
