[Bricolage #199] bric_ftpd caching state of asset?

If user A has template A checked out, the following error is displayed if I try to edit the asset via the VirtualFTP interface (it's probably specific to my ftp client):

Some files could not be downloaded
The download completed, but some errors were encountered during the transfer. Double check your settings, or re-attempt to download these files.

If I ask user A to check in the asset, I'm able to check it out in the GUI, but not via the VirtualFTP. I've also noticed that it can take new templates several minutes to show up. Wondering if there's some caching going on? Or is this my ftp client...?
