[mod_backhand-users] RE: Occaisional, inexplicable 404s on moderator servers
Theo,
Sorry for the tardy reply. I just applied the latest CVS snapshot of
mod_backhand across all of the servers (even the slave servers which don't
act as moderators). All of them also have "BackhandConnectionPools off" set.

Unfortunately, a preliminary look at the moderator server's error logs shows
that the problem appears to be still occuring:
[Wed Nov 21 20:33:45 2001] [error] [client 63.214.13.230] File does not
exist: backhand:/index.php
[Wed Nov 21 20:33:52 2001] [error] [client 161.114.88.73] File does not
exist: backhand:/index.php
[Wed Nov 21 20:34:07 2001] [error] [client 209.133.104.133] File does not
exist: backhand:/movies/index.php

This might be a stab in the dark, but is there maybe some bad interaction or
misordering regarding mod_dir or mod_rewrite? I offer this possibility
because Rotten Tomatoes uses rewrite pretty extensively.

Any suggestions that you could provide would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Can you post your entire "AddModule" section so that we can see that?
That will give a good hint if modules are stepping on each other. I
know I have the most success with mod_backhand as the very last
AddModule entry, but others find that they need it elsewhere.
