Could you give an example of the extra characters. I find this very
odd. mod_backhand is pretty dumb when it comes to headers. It does no
rewriting, so I don't understand how they could get munged on the way
through.

BTW, are they changed on the inbound headers or on the Set-cookie
directive sent back to the user.
