avidemux
Hi Axel,

Looked at avidemux (avidemux-2.5.6-30.src.rpm) and it compiled fine on
both f18 and f19 :-) didn't do a thing.

It is a bit old, so perhaps I will try to upgrade to version 2.6.4 later
in the weekend.

Regards,
Kim

It should had failed - the specfile requires

BuildRequires: /bin/arch

which now lives under /usr/bin. Maybe the symlinks of existing
packages save the day, but in a clean chroot it doesn't pull in the
right packages.

A solution would be to not use file provides, but packages provides. I
used file provides because the package name changed from util-linux to
coreutils, but perhaps all supported distros for avidemux are just
on coreutils by now.

That sounds great, I'll hold off from rebuilding the older one in case
you do upload a fresher version, thanks!!

avidemux [ In reply to ]
Hi Axel and Paulo,

I have after MANY attempts managed to get avidemux-2.6.4 to compile and
build :-) at least on f18 and f19.

I assumed all patches was upstreamed, so they are removed.

I had to removed all that has to with languages (%find_lang) as it erred
out.

Many files and directories have changed names ...

Paulo could you try to recompile the package, and possibly also test, to
see if it is sensible what I have done?

Regards,
Kim

Or alternative you can put it into the bleeding repo, and let somebody
adventurous test it...

Kim

The link is broken ...

I would also take a look at the package from Fusion:

Also for me :-( but file name is ok and permissions are readable for all. Perhaps the files should belong to a specific group?

Good idea - for a future package.

Here it fails on all, but el6 platforms. It's the /bin/arch dependency
that needs fixing for one.

> I assumed all patches was upstreamed, so they are removed.

Probably not really all of them. Best way to test is by trying to
reverse the patch.

Should also be checked.

I'm not sure he read this post, but it would be great if you two could
coordinate efforts as you are both into the details now. :)
