OK, looks like the newer nvidia drivers are not suited for building
mythtv against. I downgraded to 302.17 and the builds are fine again.

I wonder whether all nvidia hardware accelleration bits would still
work in mythtv if I would not build at all against an nvidia driver.

I'm moving this discussion to atrpms-devel.

I'll have a try later today. I'm running latest from your repo on
frontend so it seems to work but not sure which ones were used for build.

Cheers

Hi Axel

I've been using Stevens package for the last couple of months, just
updating the git-patches every now and again. Running Centos 6.4 on x86_64

I've just done a rebuild on your 292 src using the current
nvidia-graphics-long-lived (319.17-155.1) and it built with vdpau fine:

# Video Output Support
x11 support yes
xrandr support yes
xv support yes
VDPAU support yes
VAAPI support yes
CrystalHD support yes
OpenGL video yes
MHEG support yes
libass subtitle support yes

(I did have to change the spec dependancy to
nvidia-graphics-long-lived-devel obviously)

It's not just a case of missing vdpau packages is it?

thanks

Dunc

I compiled axels 292 src rpm on a 686 using
nvidia-graphics319.17-319.17-155.1.el6.i686 and got
# Video Output Support
x11 support yes
xrandr support yes
xv support no
VDPAU support yes
VAAPI support yes
CrystalHD support yes
OpenGL video yes
MHEG support yes
libass subtitle support yes

no xv support - strange

the build fails at crystal hd - what versions of crystal-hd are you
building against? I have libcrystalhd-devel-3.5.1-1_2.el6.i686

Cheers
Stephen

I found out that by now (2013) mythtv does not need any nvidia libs
present to build with all the options, so I ripped them from the last
build and everything works smoothly. :)

> >It's not just a case of missing vdpau packages is it?

No, it was using bad nvidia libs, which we seem to not need since
quite some time now. E.g. we were making our lifes just miserable. ;)
Thanks to whomever removed these dependencies in the mythtv source
code.

Yes, that seems strange.

I'm using whatver is latest in ATrpms for that distribution. The very
latest does not build on all dists.

Thanks!
