"RFD" means "request for discussion." I think there was a confusion
with the current purpose of this list, which is ADP - "Apache
Documentation Project."

Re: anyone out there [ In reply to ]
I'm a programmer at Wired Digital (HotWired). I just wrote my first
Apache module and experienced Apache's lack of documentation first-hand,
so I thought I'd help, though to be honest I don't have lots of spare time
to contribute at the moment.

Perhaps someone could send out the list of subscribers?

Yes, I'm ready. What are the first orders of business?

- decide on mark up tool
- talk about system for group documenting
- create outline of documentation
- divide up documentation creation tasks

Are there immediate documentation needs, or can we feel free to start from
the beginning? Has anyone working on Apache to date created any kind of
outline?

Hi guys.

My name's Chris and I do support for HotBot over at Wired Digital. I'm
relatively short on the technical knowledge side but I do have time, I can
write, and I am very interested in contributing so if you need anything
translated from Engineerese to English, etc. I am at your service.

I also say "Hi guys."

I'm Laurel, the documentation coordinator for C2Net, which makes
Stronghold. I've got about 300 pages of Stronghold documentation, most of
which also applies to Apache, of course. We're happy to donate any bits
and pieces that you guys feel are Good or Useful.

The current version of the Stronghold docs is here:

http://www.c2.net/products/stronghold/docs/

Feel free to cut and paste or to request whole files from me.

If you're planning API docs, I'd love to discuss possible collaboration. ;]

It'd be cool if this could be done when 1.3 is ready for release ... but
we're notoriously bad about predicting those sorts of dates. In any event
it wouldn't be the end of the world if we released with the docs we have
now ... and came up with something better later.

1.3 might go into beta within two or three weeks. We had 11 betas of 1.2
... 1.3 shouldn't be as bad, I'd be really happy if it was released by
october.
