I'm looking at something that *may* be a problem handling restarts, with
David's locking code in. If it works and restarts properly on Solaris, I
suppose we can go ahead anyway (the code isn't normally compiled in on
SunOS, so restart problems here with it in aren't necessarily a problem,
but I'd like to know whether it is some SunOS dependancy or not before
proceeding with release...).
