How to condense referring pages?
Hi,

I'd like to condense all the the pages one my own site that refer to
my homepage into a single line with the total number of referrals.

I've done a redesign of my site navigation that now has a more obvious
link to my homepage, and want to see how effective it now is. I'm
hoping that by getting visitors to visit my homepage, I can encourage
them to visit the rest of my site rather than clicking away from it.

I know that I could do it manually by tallying them up from the
referrer report, but I'm sure there is an automated way.

I'd like this total to only include referrals from my own domain.

Thanks!

I'm not quite sure that I understand what you are trying to achieve, but the only way to get specific information about referrers to just your home page is to do a report on just your home page - if you are reporting on all the pages on your site, then there's no way to pick out the referrers that only point to your home page

You could do
FILEINCLDE /index.html

to generate a report on just the home page, and then use the Referrer Report and the Referring Site report to get greater detail on where the links to your home page are.

Yes, I'm presently running a report on just my homepage. But I have
many other pages on the site, each of which contributes to referrals.
I'd like to find the total number of referrals from my own domain
without having to tally the numbers up by hand.

The Referring Site report (REFSITE ON) tells you the total number of referrals from every site, including your own.

That does the trick - thank you very much!

And it does seem to show that my improved navigation is sending more
referrals to my homepage.
