Summary: Unable to change mac address of vif in Dom0
Product: Xen
Version: unstable
Platform: x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: Hypervisor
AssignedTo: xen-bugs@lists.xensource.com
ReportedBy: jhebus@gmail.com
I am trying to do the following sequence to a vif created by a guest domain
from dom0.
ifconfig vif1.0 down
ifconfig vif1.0 hw ether 00:80:48:BA:d1:30
ifconfig vif1.0 up
However the second operation produces SIOCSIFHWADDR: Operation not supported.
I am able to do this to the real hardware interfaces without problem.
I have xen 4.1.1 compiled from source, and dom0 from source following this
tutorial
http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2010-03/msg00878.html.
I this specific to me, or a general problem?
