Mailing List Archive: Cannot change session name when headers already sent

Hi!

I am new to MediaWiki and I try to install a test Wiki in this environment:

NetBSD 8.1
Apache 2.4.41
PHP 7.3.9
PostgreSQL 11.5
MediwWiki 1.33.0

I have performed the installation dialogue (the database is filled, so
it has done something) and added LocalSettings.php in the base directory.

When accessing the Wiki, I am back at the installer page and see

[adbcec82bb7466fe231a3192] 2019-09-09 08:48:02: Fatal exception of type
InvalidArgumentException

on that page. The Apache log shows

session_name(): Cannot change session name when headers already sent in
/usr/pkg/share/httpd/htdocs/mediawiki-1.33.0/includes/Setup.php on line 803

I found some info on this error, but nothing in the context of
MediaWiki. What am I missing here?

Hello Joern,

Someone else may know better than me, but personally, I'd suggest
investigating where the InvalidArgumentException is coming from. It could
be possible that something is throwing that exception very early during the
setup, when it's still not handled properly. I may be way off base, of
course, but I think it's worth investigating anyway.
