Maybe I'm doing something wrong...

I'm trying to post here from Outlook Express, but I have to go to my Hotmail account (my registered address) where I find a message such as:

"You have sent a message to be posted on the gmane.mail.spam.spamassassin.general newsgroup.

This is a non-public mailing list, which means that you have to subscribe to the list to post to it. If you're already subscribed to the list, Gmane can forward this message to the list if you respond to this message. If not, you should sign up to the mailing list first, and then respond to this message, or just forget about it.
Many mailing lists have an option to subscribe to a list, but then put it in 'nomail' mode, which means that you won't receive any mail from the list."

Which I have to reply to before anything appears here. Three out of four (so far) haven't appeared in my hotmail inbox yet.

I'm doing this because I haven't a clue what's happening now - I no longer get digests in my mail and the sourceforge list seems dead. A "header.txt" message in the last digest I received pointed here but this seems pointless. I have registered twice, using two different (valid) emai addresses but that doesn't seem to help.

By the way - it was pure luck that I realised that things had moved here ... why wasn't it betted publisised?

A. It was posted twice to the old list, so if you were an existing
subscriber you should have received that,

B. the lists.html page has been updated and the lists.sf.net pages
similarly updated to inform new subscribers.

And C. the old list started rejecting new posts with a "This list has
moved..." message.
