Mailing List Archive

I read the FAQ. My messages are regarded as spam
Hi,

I am a new programmer on Krusader development team which uses the
sourceforge services for our mailing list. Being a member of that list I
receive messages form everybody however when I post messages to that
list many times they do not get to their destination. I was told by the
development team initiator/manager/senior member Shie Erlich
<erlich@users.sourceforge.net>, that my messages are probably filtered
out by spamAssasin. I read the articles of how to avoid treated as a
spammer but I am not sure I really understand that to do.

The Krusader is a very important project to me. As a matter a fact, the
only reason I am onto this list is to make sure my messages are accepted
and I promis to unsubscribe from this list as soon as this problem is over.

Please help.

Your message looks fine to me, very non-spammy. Seems like a
SourceForge problem. For the time being, you could use the Habeas SWE
mark in your email and see if that helps. It's been disabled by some
places, though, so I'm not sure if that will help you with sf.net.

When you say that your message isn't delivered ... do you happen
to know if filtered messages are bounced to your list moderator for
review, or if they can send you a copy of the bounced message, including
headers? You should see something like this, in those headers:

X-MailScanner-Antivirus: Found to be clean
X-Spam-Score: 6.1 (++++++)
X-Spam-Report: Spam Filtering performed by sourceforge.net.
See http://spamassassin.org/tag/ for more details.
Report problems to http://sf.net/tracker/?func=add&group_id=1&atid=200001
0.0 HTML_MESSAGE BODY: HTML included in message
0.2 NORMAL_HTTP_TO_IP URI: Uses a dotted-decimal IP address in URL
3.1 USERPASS URI: URL contains username and (optional)
password
1.9 WEIRD_PORT URI: Uses non-standard port number for HTTP
0.8 PRIORITY_NO_NAME Message has priority setting, but no X-Mailer
X-Spam-Flag: YES

(this was taken from an actual message delivered to this group back when
the mailing list was hosted on SourceForge.)

If you can post the headers, like those above, to this list, then we can
probably help tell you what the spam filter was reacting to.
