syslogd exiting
Query SELECT devicereportedtime,message, ID FROM `syslog`.`SystemEvents` S, Mon May 30 09:30:52 2005I'm thinking that the syslogd exit messages are not intended?

Indeed, they are (if you mean " 2005-05-30 14:09:03 syslogd:
exiting on signal 2 6 "). They are in there so that a log parser can
detect the shutdown. And, no, there is currently no way to turn them off
(except by patching the source, which shold be very easy - search for
"exiting").
