Scanning the archive, I see that this hasn't been answered to the
list. Since I had the same problem I think it's worth having the
answer available.
The file /var/qmail/alias/.qmail-listname-request has to be writable by
the qlist program, which runs under the "alias" uid. So chown it to
alias.
