Hi,

you did not tell us, what Android mail-app you use.

I prefer K-9 Mail.

The one, you are using is broken and not complying to RFC 822 .. (sigh).

For qmail, there exist several patches to circumvent the situation. You also will succeed switching to my s/qmail.

Best regards.

It's very helpfully called "Email"

EH> The one, you are using is broken and not complying to RFC 822 .. (sigh).

That's what I thought.

I should be able to set up a service on an alternative IP address that
runs fixcrio after sslserver as the data is unencrypted at that point...
I think

I'm no 100% sure, whether this is going to work. fixcrio uses stdin/sdtout for piping.
At least, using Scott Gifford's STARTTLS solution, different descriptors are used.

See http://fehcom.de/qmail/smtptls.html (figure 14).

This mechanism is also used in s/qmail.

Best regards.

PS: This web page needs urgent fixing ... ECC, OpenSSL++, LibreSSL ....

It appears to work OK, got the email with an attachment sent from Android.

Not that I like doing this, but at least it's a new service that isn't
used by any other clients
