i think ive seen question about this before but i don't recall the
responses. is there any way to get qmail-scanner-queue.pl script to run
only if the email account exists? i have the standard qmail-1.03
install with a few common patches and with vpopmail along with
qmail-scanner-queue.pl. so many messages come in that are destined for
account that don't exists at all and it would seem to be acceptable to
just simply let the messages thru to the .qmail-default (whis is set to
drop the message into the bit bucket '#').

At the time that the message is being queued, what defines whether or
not an email account exists?

You could probably teach qmail-scanner-queue.pl to know which email
addresses ``exist'' but there is nothing built-in that I'm aware of.

Another option would be to run something prior to qmail-scanner-queue.pl
that checks to see if the email address ``exists'' and responds
accordingly.
