Network creation
Hi,
Is it intended that a network with the same name can be created more
than once? Or is this a bug?
For example:
[root@localhost ~]quantum create_net default XXX
Created a new Virtual Network with ID: 1acf8fe7-5d53-4b55-beaa-1ca603f4c175
for Tenant: default
[root@localhost ~]# quantum create_net default XXX
Created a new Virtual Network with ID: e5d97af5-4362-43f9-a665-00a65bbd0c1a
for Tenant: default
Thanks
Gary

Hi Gary,

Yes, that is expected behavior.

Since the UUID is the unique ID, a tenant can choose to name networks using
the same string.

Its a bit tricky, but I think the convention we follow in the API docs (
http://docs.openstack.org/incubation/openstack-network/developer/quantum-api-1.0/content/index.html)
is that any value that must be unique is explicitly described as such, and
all other fields are not expected to be unique.
