Hello.

We run pFsense where it is the ip gateway with an old version of ntop but
works and shows all the hosts and traffic correctly. We have setup a
separate version of ntop to centralize the networks and traffic monitoring.

It is not showing the correct throughput of traffic or getting all the
hosts from the networks on the network prefixes, the ip is allowed on the
firewall,..

i am not sure why its not working.

Hi Chris
are you running ntopng on pfSense? What version and how did you configure it?

Yes i am but the issue is the stand alone ntopong not on the pfsense, its
only picking up a limited amount of hosts.

or is there a way to link the ntopng on the pfsense to the standalone? as
traffic itself doesnt go via the standalone will it still pick up the hosts
and traffic?

Hi Chris
for standalone you mean on Linux? On pfSense you can use docker to run our builds or compile it from source

If you see few hosts it is probably because your ntopng does not observe all traffic. Can you please check with tcpdump/wireshark if this is the case?
