Vocus routing US Salesforce.com traffic through Australia?
Received latency complaints from one location in Nashville with Centurylink Internet. Traceroutes showed traffic routing through Australia. Looks like 1 of 8 Salesforce.com publicly resolved IP's is currently being routed through San Jose, California and then to Australia before coming back to US. We sent the info to Salesforce.com through a ticket but I'm doubtful of it making it to someone that can figure out what to do with the info.

Just curious if anyone has insight into what is going on. I am not familiar with Australia ISP's etc.

Akamai is a transit customer of Vocus AS4826. (i.e. There's nothing wrong or accidental about announcing a customer's route to all upstreams and peers.)

If Akamai doesn't want that announced to certain peers or certain places; Vocus has communities they can attach to their announcement: http://tools.vocus.com.au/additionals/communities.html <http://tools.vocus.com.au/additionals/communities.html>

Likewise, 23.1.35.132 appears to be anycasted. My traceroute from Melbourne, VIC never leaves Australia. (<22ms)
