Re: Fios Long Island Issues? [ In reply to ]
Yes, as a residential customer in Western NY (Buffalo), I am having issues to Salesforce, and the University at Buffalo (AS3685) starting about 15 minutes ago.

Sporadic loss and TLS errors.

Adam

Yes - we're seeing FiOS issues in Northern NJ as well. Seems like
something on AS701 in NYC, via Newark, NJ it seems ok.

Same here as a residential customer in the Boston suburbs. Things aren't outright down, but I am having packet loss to various destinations.

I have a Verizon Business fiber connection, not FIOS, in an office in Arlington, VA that started having packet loss issues at this same time, continue to do so as well.

Re: Fios Long Island Issues? [ In reply to ]
Confirming FiOS sites with ~30-40% loss down most paths from Massachusetts
to Northern Virginia.

FiOS to AT&T in the DC region:

FiOS in Massachusetts to Google's local 8.8.8.8 anycasted resolver:

FiOS in Manhattan to AT&T:

Worst FiOS outage in a few years now. The DC-region has had a ton of
ALTER.Net backbone trouble since the pandemic began, but it usually only
impacts a few peers at a time. This one is massive and seems to originate
within ALTER.Net itself, not at any peering hand-off.

Fun day! At least Azure paths seem unaffected.

Verizon is reporting a fiber cut in Brooklyn but this seems to be an
outsized impact from a single line being cut:

Re: Fios Long Island Issues? [ In reply to ]
Looks like the loss just cleared at ~12:38pm EST:

It should be noted that this seemed to impact not just FiOS users, but the
entire Verizon ALTER.NET backbone network. The graph above is for a
Verizon ADSL circuit, proving that was also impacted. I imagine Verizon
Wireless was similarly affected.

Let's hope it stays fixed.

Thanks everyone!
