EX4600 and Mixed Modules
Hello,

according to Juniper docs if you insert an EX4600-EM-8F module into an
EX4600 chassis the interfaces are being restarted, while with installation
of QFX-EM-4Q they do not.

However, I have experienced a link loss after inserting a QFX-EM-4Q module
and wonder if the switch must restart interfaces if an EX4600-EM-8F module
is installed into the second module slot.

Anyone has knowledge about the behavior?

Kind Regards
Leon Kramer

FWIW: I don't trust any vendor on a switch expansion module. Even if
they say it is hot swapable, I've had so many reboot anyway.
I would always do it in a maint window.
